Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Tap Counter app ("the app") handles, why, and the choices you have. The app is published by Svimph ("we", "us"). If you have questions, contact us at svimph@gmail.com.
Information that stays on your device
- Your counters: names, counts, goals, amounts per tap and lock settings.
- Your counting history: when counts changed, used for the History screen and stats. History older than 12 months is deleted automatically.
- Home-screen widget settings: which counter each widget shows.
This information is stored only on your device. We do not have accounts or servers that receive it. If Android backup is turned on for your device, Android may include the app's data in your device backup to your Google account, under Google's terms and your backup settings.
Export: if you choose "Export as CSV" in History, the app creates a file with that counter's history and opens Android's share sheet. The file goes only to the app or person you choose.
Screen brightness permission
The app can ask for the "Modify system settings" permission. It is used only to change your screen brightness from the app's Settings screen, and you can decline it.
Advertising
The app is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob, including ads from Meta Audience Network through AdMob mediation. To show and measure ads, these services may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Depending on your choices and where you live, ads may be personalized based on this information.
- How Google uses information from apps that use its ad services
- Meta Privacy Policy and Meta and the GDPR
Your choices:
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message before showing personalized ads. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized or limited ads. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- On any Android device, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Analytics, crash reports and performance
The app uses Google Firebase services to understand how the app is used and to fix problems:
- Firebase Analytics: app usage events (for example, which screens are opened and which buttons are used), an app instance identifier, device and app information, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports with device state and the technical details of the error.
- Firebase Performance Monitoring: app performance data such as startup time and network request timing.
These services do not receive your counter names or counts. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above (Google and Meta) so they can provide ads, analytics, crash reporting and performance monitoring, as described in their policies.
Retention
Data on your device stays until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Information collected by the service providers above is kept according to their policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Because counter data stays on your device, you can view, change or delete it directly in the app. For anything else, contact us at svimph@gmail.com.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date above shows when it was last updated.
